The Glorified Hustle Culture
Secure the bag! Secure the bag! If you aren't securing you are snoozing! The burnout and grind culture all for securing the bag is alarming.
This glorification of working very long hours in hope of reaching one's professional goals while having a disregard for thier health is becoming increasingly in today's society..
This hustle culture is killing us. Secure the bag at the expense of your health. You must be reaching for something higher and grinding for it. You must achieve and achieve and the best is ALWAYS yet to come.
Someone told me, Nettie "I'll sleep when I'm dead".. Hmmm, how often do we STOP? Breathe please?
I totally agree with Abraham Hicks. The purpose of life is joy. I think I see why monks and bhudists would rather focus on peace than chase dopamine (excitement and adventure) we are addicted to it.
We define our lives by those few and far between highs and hate the "lows". We go through the process, not enjoying it, but enduring it to be rewarded with results.
What a sad way to live.. That only maybe 100 days out of your 90 years on earth are considered worthy of actual celebration. Graduation. Awards. Wedding. PhDs. Invention. So where were the rest worth? Not much. You used 90 years of your life to chase 100 good days.
How weird!!
Do you agree - this hustle culture is killing us. Share me your thoughts on this hustle culture in the comment section.
For me there should be a place for balance. You work, celebrate your wins and rest when you need it jot when you break down you rest becuase your body is really doing alot to keep you going. You also have to compensate it as much as you find hardwork a priority as well

ReplyDeleteNice write-up and thought-provoking. Apart from the fact that I didn't see where you got this assertion from: "...100 days out of your 90 years on earth are considered worthy of actual celebration", it gets scarier to overlook the importance of rest in our chase for the "bag".
ReplyDeleteIn as much as hustle is a requirement for living, I believe it should not be sacrificed on the premise of ones health. Personally, I take time out to relax my muscles so that they won't fail the hustle.
A glorified hustle is like relying solely on fueling a car and neglecting servicing the engine.
Thinking about it now and the reality of our society, It is really hard to find a balance because we've been conditioned by parents, school, and the entire community to spend 100yrs chasing a 90days happiness..
